We have received further reports of Bogus Police Officer Telephone Scams in the Sherborne area.

Courier fraudsters might call you pretending to be a police officer or bank official. Your bank or the police will never call you to ask you to verify your personal details or PIN by phone, or offer to pick up your bank card by courier.

A Police Officer will never: 

• ask you for your bank details or PIN.

• ask you to transfer funds to another account.

• ask you to hand over cash or bank cards to a courier.

• ask you to 'assist' an investigation by doing any of the above.

• state that you are committing a crime by not complying.
