Appeal for information following attempted vehicle theft in Poole

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a report of an attempted vehicle theft in Poole.

At around 8pm on Monday 15 April 2024 two male suspects were seen apparently trying to gain entry to a vehicle parked on Symes Road, near to the junction with Blandford Road.

One of the suspects, who was wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up and white designs on the front, was reported to be trying to force entry to the passenger side door with a large chisel-type tool.

The other suspect is described as wearing a black tracksuit, also with the hood up.

They both left the scene when a member of the public shouted at them, heading off from Symes Road onto Inglesham Way.

Police Constable Jack Taylor, of Poole police, said: “We are conducting enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from any residents or passing pedestrians who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area.

“I would also urge residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, as well as motorists with dashcam who were driving in the vicinity, to please check their footage from the evening of Monday 15 April 2024 to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
