Unfortunately the criminal fraternity are taking an interest in diesel thefts again.  As your very much aware farmers are using a lot of diesel at this time of year.  Which of course means diesel tanks and tractor oil have to be kept topped up etc.  

Recently in the Alton Pancras area one of the Water companies had an attempt theft of diesel.  It appears the alarm may have disturbed them , but in attempting to steal they caused quite a bit of damage to gates etc. 

There has also been another recent diesel theft attempts in the Christchurch area. 

FUEL TANK AND HEATING OIL SECURITY 

* are all fuel tanks dipped regularly , secured and locked to restrict tampering and theft? 

* install fuel tanks within secure buildings or cage if possible

*consider installing anti-siphon devices as well as tank alarms 

* install motion sensing CCTV and lighting 

*consider planting spikey shrubs, install fences to hide the tank and remove empty oil drums as soon as possible.
