This is a reminder that from Friday 3 October 2025 we are making changes to the way you can contact us for non-emergency matters as we adapt to how the public prefers to get in touch. We are transferring our front counter services from Poole, Bridport, Sherborne and Gillingham and providing the public with three main locations to access – Bournemouth, Blandford and Weymouth.
These changes will take effect from Saturday 4 October 2025 and front counter opening times can be found on the Dorset Police website.
Poole, Bridport, Sherborne and Gillingham will all remain open for officers, staff and volunteers to work from and access.
The changes follow a review, which recognised the public prefer to contact us online and in the heart of neighbourhoods at Community Contact Points.
You may also have heard that we have recently launched our Mobile Police Stations, which are out there visiting communities and providing an effective way to report non-emergency matters.
• Always call 999 if there is a crime in progress or danger to life • In a non-emergency situation, you can call 101 or visit the Dorset Police website to provide information or intelligence • Find out where your next Community Contact Point by visiting: : Your area | Dorset Police • To see where the Mobile Police Station is visiting, visit: Mobile Police Station | Dorset Police
