Fake Banknotes in Sherborne

Local businesses have reported that fake £20 notes are circulating in Sherborne. Two fake notes have been recovered so far, but others may still be in circulation. You can read how to check for forged notes on the Bank of England website here:

The fake notes presently circulating are missing the series of numbers in the bottom corner clear window as shown in our photograph. Also the clusters of raised dots which is a tactile feature to help blind and partially sighted people are missing.
