Serious injury collision in Bournemouth – witness and dashcam appeal |

Officers investigating a collision in Bournemouth that left a cyclist with serious injuries are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.39am on Friday 19 December 2025 of a collision on the slip road from the Cooper Dean Roundabout to the northbound carriageway of the A338 involving a white Volkswagen Golf and a bicycle.
Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place as they responded to the incident.
The cyclist – a woman aged in her 50s – was taken to hospital. It was subsequently reported that her injuries were believed to be life-changing.
A woman aged in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The road was reopened at around 12.45pm.
Police Constable Josh Alner, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision.
“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please contact us.
“I would also like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures.”
