Blandford police station will be temporarily closed between Sunday 12 July and Monday 27 July 2026 due to additional essential building works.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and have provided some information below that may be useful in how you can contact us during this time:

Alternative front counter services will be available at Gillingham enquiry office from 10am – 3.30pm on Tuesday 14 July to Friday 17 July, and Tuesday 21 July to Friday 24 July 2026.

Services available at Gillingham during this time includes:

Sex offender registration: This must be reported in person at an alternative station (Weymouth or Bournemouth, or Gillingham during the temporary advertised dates). This cannot be recorded over phone at Blandford. You can find the opening times here: Find a police station | Dorset Police

Section 165 release requests, prohibition orders, surrender of firearms or ammunition and the surrender of found property.

Collection of property but only if officer in case has approved.

Incident and crime recording.

Booked police appointments at this location.

Please be assured that normal policing patrols will continue in the Blandford area during this time and the enquiry office will reopen on Wednesday 29 July 2026.
