Neighbourhood Policing Team Weekly Update |

Good morning,
On Thursday, at approximately 2.50pm we received a report of a male acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the bike storage area at a local gym. The report stated that this male had the same appearance as a previous suspect that had been stealing bicycles from the same location. PCs Matt, John and Harry and PCSO Matt immediately deployed to the incident, knowing how vital it was to apprehend the suspect. Upon arrival, officers located the individual and detained him. A search was subsequently carried out under Section 1 of PACE. During the search, officers found a pair of handheld wire cutters, a quantity of suspected Class B drugs, and a membership card belonging to another person. The items were seized and the male was arrested for 'Going equipped for theft', 'possession of class B drugs' and 'theft by finding'.
After some detailed investigative work linking the previous thefts together along with the relevant CCTV footage the male was charged with 'Theft of push bike' x 3, 'Going equipped for theft', 'possession of class B drugs' and 'theft by finding'. The approximate total value of the push bikes equate to an eye-watering £11,500.00! We will endeavour to update the progress of this investigation, where possible.
This result demonstrates the value of community vigilance. If something doesn't look right, please report it. Your information helps us prevent crime, protect property, and keep Poole a safe place to live, work and visit.
