Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of inspectors, sergeants, police officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

NPTs provide a visible and accessible policing presence, building strong relationships with residents, businesses and partner agencies. They work to identify and tackle local priorities such as anti-social behaviour, crime prevention and community safety concerns. By listening to the community and acting on what matters most, they help create safer, more connected neighbourhoods.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Dorset.

Illegal and anti-social use of vehicles (off road motorcycles) Location: Corelli Estate. Issue: Off road bikes are being ridden illegally and anti-socially around the estate causing distress to local residents. Planned action to tackle this issue: - Targeted high-visibility patrols at key times (local officers and specialist teams) - Robust enforcement action where possible including warning notices and vehicle seizures - Partnership working with Dorset Council and other key agencies Issued 01 April 2026	This is a new local priority recorded for the area and we will provide an action update in May Actioned 30 June 2026
Shoplifting Location: Peel Centre, Babylon Hill. Issue: There has been an increase in shoplifting to local businesses at the retail park causing harm to staff, customers and the wider community. Planned action to tackle this issue: - Targeted high-visibility patrols at key times and locations - Multi-agency working with Avon & Somerset Police and the local Town-Link scheme - Dedicated policing operations Issued 01 April 2026	This is a new local priority recorded for the area and we will provide an action update in May Actioned 30 June 2026
