Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of inspectors, sergeants, police officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

NPTs provide a visible and accessible policing presence, building strong relationships with residents, businesses and partner agencies. They work to identify and tackle local priorities such as anti-social behaviour, crime prevention and community safety concerns. By listening to the community and acting on what matters most, they help create safer, more connected neighbourhoods.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Dorset.

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Location: The Meadows and Addison Close. Issue: Drug related ASB has raised a number of concerns for the local community who are affected on a daily basis by the behaviours of those living at and visiting specific addresses. Planned action to tackle this issue: - Hotspot patrols, - Collaboration with the Community Safety partnership and housing providers to consider a wider range of interventions, - Engagement with the local community to truly understand the impact and gain information and intelligence, - Take robust action where offences exist. Shoplifting Location: Morrisons, Bell Street - Shaftesbury Issue: The store has seen an increase in offending, causing financial losses to the store and concern in the local community. Planned action to tackle this issue: - Targeting of offenders - High Visibility patrols - Collaboration with partners including housing providers to consider other more lasting interventions - Engagement with the store on prevention and detection .
