Burglary Prevention Advice - Sherborne Area

A house has been burgled in the Sherborne area. The owner of the property went out for a walk and upon their return noticed bins and other items at the side of the house had been moved.  The resident then noticed the back door and patio door were wide open. During the occupier’s absence an unknown person had gained entry to their home by using a spare set of keys they had left secreted in the garden. Fortunately in this incident, nothing was taken.

  • Don’t leave spare keys outside or in a garage or shed.
  • Hide all keys, including car keys, out of sight and away from the letterbox (remember a device could be used to hook keys through the letterbox)
