Burglaries in Yetminster

Alert message sent 06/06/2019 12:23:00

Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

A home has been burgled in Yetminster. Entry was gained through a porch window and boxes and drawers were rifled through. It is unknown at this time what was stolen.

A second property was also burgled on the same evening by forcing open a French door. Items were stolen including jewellery.

Thieves also attempted to break in to a third home in Yetminster but were disturbed. Damage was caused to a door.

Dorset Police have since received a report of a male knocking on a Yetminster resident’s door asking for directions to the train station. This may have been a ruse to see if anyone was at home. The male is described as a white male aged approximately 40 years, of average build with short light brown hair, wearing a blue waterproof coat.

These crimes occurred sometime between 5.15pm and 9pm  on the evening of Wednesday the 5th of June.

Please be vigilant and secure your home and outbuildings. Consider fitting a burglar alarm if you do not already have one. Home security advice is available on the Dorset Police web site here:
