Alert message sent 02/08/2019 14:43:00

Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

Sherborne Rural Neighbourhood Team is aware of scam emails being received by Sherborne residents. The emails purport to be from colleagues or friends and uses the name of a friend or colleague to lure the recipient in to a false sense of security. These emails are actually from a scam email address. The recipient is asked to buy gift vouchers or iTunes cards.

If you receive a scam email this is what you should do:

* Do not click on any links in the scam email.
* Do not reply to the email or contact the senders in any way.
* If you have clicked on a link in the email, do not supply any information on the website that  may open.
* Do not open any attachments that arrive with the email.
