Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after a bike was stolen during a burglary of a garage in Poole.

The garage at a home in Beresford Road was broken into between the evening of Tuesday 16 June 2020 and the early hours of the following day. A green and black Cannondale Lefty bicycle, distinctive due to only the left front fork being present, was stolen.

The owner of the bike was in hospital at the time following a liver transplant and whilst in hospital he contracted COVID-19.

He is now having to learn to walk again and his wife, who was at home at the time of the burglary, describes the bike as his ‘pride and joy’.

Police Constable Matt Putt, of Poole police, said: “This bike was a prized possession of the victim, who has been through an extremely difficult time recently, and we are determined to do all we can to find who was responsible for the burglary and locate the stolen bicycle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55200086835.
