Two people charged following reported aggravated burglary in Boscombe

Detectives investigating a reported aggravated burglary in Boscombe have charged a man and a woman.

 At around 6pm on Thursday 24 September 2020 the victim – a woman aged in her 30s – arrived at the block of flats where she lives in Sea Road and saw a man and woman on the communal stairway.

 As she reached her front door, the victim was reportedly approached by the couple. She was allegedly assaulted with a hammer and kicked in the head.

 It is reported the keys to her flat were stolen and she was further assaulted inside. Her handbag containing a purse, mobile phone and various keys was allegedly stolen.

 The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to various injuries, including cuts and bruising to her head and face.

 Following enquiries, a 38-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, both from Bournemouth, have been charged with robbery and grievous bodily harm with intent. They are due to appear before Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 September 2020. 

 Detective Constable Stuart Dalladay, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing and I would ask any members of the public who may have information that could assist our enquiries to please contact Dorset Police.”
