Two charged in connection with reported protest activity in Bournemouth

Two people have been charged with breaching COVID-19 legislation in connection with reported protest activity in Bournemouth.

 Officers responded to reports of people gathering in the town centre on Saturday 21 November 2020, with a large gathering located in the area of The Square.

 Two people were arrested in connection with the incident and subsequently charged with breaches of coronavirus legislation.

 A 39-year-old man from Poole and a 29-year-old man from Whiteley in Hampshire have been charged with participating in a gathering in a public outdoor place of more than two people and holding or being involved in a gathering of more than 30 people.

 They are both due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 26 January 2021.
