CCTV appeal following theft by finding in Bournemouth

Officers investigating a theft by finding incident in Bournemouth are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

At around 5.45pm on Thursday 22 April 2021 the female victim was trying on shoes in JD Sports on Commercial Road when she put her belongings down on a seat near to her.

It is reported that a man picked up the victim’s iPhone 12 from the seat, placed it in his pocket and left the store.

Police Sergeant Phil Stevens, of Bournemouth police, said: “Our enquiries are continuing into this incident and I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to.

“I am keen to speak to the man pictured to get his account and would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact me. 

“I would also urge the man involved to please do the right thing and come forward.”
