Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

In relation to a spike in criminal behaviour and anti-social behaviour over the weekend of the 2nd – 4th July in Sherborne Town Centre and Terrace Playing fields, the local neighbourhood policing team have carried out a thorough investigation with the help of the public that has led us to identify the main group of perpetrators.

We have now issued various sanctions aimed at preventing the issues that we faced that weekend. These have included community consequence letters, a Community Protection Notice Warning and we will soon be carrying out formal police interviews in relation to an assault at the Terrace Playing Fields and the theft of an E-bike from the town.

In response to anti-social behaviour linked to the use of motorbikes in the town we have already arrested one man for drink driving and we have good evidence of further incidents involving motorcycles where enforcement will now take place.

Sherborne Neighbourhood Policing Team would like to thank the public for all your information on these matters and I hope that you can have the confidence to keep informing us of further incidents so that we can drive down on criminality and anti-social behaviour in the town.
