Officers investigating an incident where a woman was bitten by a dog at a park in Poole are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The incident occurred at around 12.30pm on Tuesday 27 July 2021 at Alexandra Park. The victim was walking her Shih Tzu through the park when they were approached by a medium-sized black terrier-type dog, believed to be called Milo.

The dog attacked her Shih Tzu and as the victim went to intervene she was bitten on the hand, sustaining a puncture wound as a result.

The dog was being walked by two women, who left the area without giving their contact details. One of the women is described as white, aged in her early 20s, around five feet tall and of medium build with a shoulder-length brown bob. The other woman had blonde hair and was wearing a black hooded top.

Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has any information relating to the identity of the women involved, to please come forward.

“I would also urge these women to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210121131.
