Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

Officers investigating an assault in Bournemouth are issuing an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

At around 9.30pm on Friday 24 July 2020 two men were asked to leave The Neptune bar on Boscombe pier after they became volatile and were upsetting other customers. The men left the building, but tried to regain entry shortly afterwards.

It is reported that a member of staff stood in front of one of the men blocking their entrance and they hit the victim to the chest with the palm of their hand.

Officers attended the scene, but the two men had already left the area.

Police Constable Dan Yates, of Bournemouth police, said: “Following enquiries I have obtained an image of a man I would like to speak in connection with this incident.
