Update following reported dog bite incident in Poole

A man has come forward after a report that a woman was bitten by a dog in Poole.

The incident occurred at around 9am on Thursday 8 April 2021 while the victim – a local woman aged in her 20s – was running near Northmere Road.

It is reported that as she went past a man who was walking two Beagles, one of them bit her. 

The dog owner apologised to the victim and asked if she was all right, but she did not notice that she had sustained injuries until she returned home.

Following a witness appeal, the owner of the dog – a man aged in his 50s from Poole – has come forward and is assisting officers with their investigation. No arrests have been made.
