CCTV appeal after alleged assault in Bournemouth

Officers investigating an alleged assault in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward – with a CCTV image being released and one man arrested.

The incident, which happened at Mello Mello Bar on Christchurch Road in the Boscombe area of the town, was reported to police at 1.47pm on Tuesday 18 May 2021.

It is alleged that during a fight a 54-year-old Bournemouth man was knocked unconscious and sustained an injury to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers attended and a 33-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of affray and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Dave Buchanan, of Bournemouth police, said: “During my investigation I have obtained a CCTV image of a man I would like to speak to in relation to this incident.

“We have made a number of enquiries, but we have so far been unable to get in contact with this man.

“Anyone with information that could help us to get in touch with him is asked to call Dorset Police.”
