Police Constable Paul Humber, of Bournemouth police, said: “I am carrying out a number of enquiries to try and identify those responsible.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to speak to a group of children who came to ask the victim if he was OK shortly after the incident as they may have important information to assist my enquiries.”
